Hong Kong Public Holidays 2014 Calendar
Being an integral part of the People’s Republic of China doesn’t mean Hong Kong celebrate the same holidays with PRC. Hong Kong, as a Special Administrative Region (SAR), has its own holidays as regulated by Hong Kong’s General Holidays Ordinance.
There are 17 public holidays / bank holidays in Hong Kong. Public holidays in Hong Kong are made of Chinese, Christian, Buddhist, and international festivals as well as historical events. Based on the General Holidays Ordinance, employees in Hong Kong are granted a day off during public holidays.
The list of Hong Kong 2014 holidays below are based on the official Hong Kong 2014 Public Holidays Calendar which has been released in April 2013. Still, we do not and cannot guarantee the accuracy of this 2014 Hong Kong holidays calendar.
